Poetry Magazine is the oldest monthly poetry publication in the English-speaking world.
At the core of the publication's identity program—developed for the Poetry Foundation and Magazine by Pentagram in 2018—was the invitation for a guest designer to interpret the letters P O E T R Y to create a unique cover for each issue.
For the November 2024 issue, Andrea Trabucco-Campos and team paid tribute to poetry’s history as an ancient art form. Using weathered stone letterforms, the cover captures the immortality of poetry and the timelessness of the medium. The physicality of the letterforms corresponds to the weight each word carries in a poetic setting.
