Emily Oberman Honored With 2022 AIGA Medal

Preview — Jan 20, 2023

The Pentagram partner has been awarded the highest honor in the profession of communication design.

Last October, Pentagram partner Emily Oberman was awarded the AIGA Medal at the 2022 AIGA Design Conference in Seattle. The AIGA Medal is the most distinguished honor in the profession of communication design, awarded to individuals in recognition of their exceptional achievements to the advancement of design as a respected craft, strategic advantage, and vital cultural force.

A highlight of the awards ceremony was the debut of three short video portraits of Emily and her fellow 2022 honorees, Andrew Blauvelt and Louise Sandhaus. Emily and a team of Pentagram designers collaborated with AIGA, interviewer Debbie Millman and editor Blake Eskin to produce these videos, providing glimpses into the lives and work of those being honored. These stories will be posted on the AIGA website, joining those of Medal recipients going back to 1920. We’re pleased to share Emily’s video here.
