Angus Hyland is named Creative Director of the Year
Angus received the award at this year’s Transform Awards Europe.
At a ceremony held in London, Angus and team were awarded a total of 9 awards, including ‘Creative Director of the Year’ for Angus, ‘Best overall visual identity’ for publisher Quarto, and silver and gold awards for TFL‘s Places for London, and for Chatsworth House and the Devonshire Group.
As a creative director he has forged many longstanding relationships with publishing clients including Laurence King Publishing, Quarto, and the new Thames & Hudson imprint Skittledog. He has also worked as creative director on projects for leading artist materials supplies Cass Art for many years, designing its hugely popular range of branded artists’ products, and in 2023, creating a new exhibition and series of sustainable artists’ tote bags based around his idea of ‘Bags of Art & Design’.
“When you’re proud of what you‘ve created and if your client is happy and, then as a designer, that’s sufficient,” Angus explains. “That said, receiving recognition from your peers is not a necessity, but there’s no getting away from the fact that–like a beautifully tailored Savile Row suit—it feels great, and it makes you look good.”
