The Storyteller’s Art, an exhibition of the work of Kit Hinrichs, is on view at the Alyce de Roulet Williamson Gallery at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena through May 3. The retrospective showcases Hinrichs’ influence on America’s graphic landscape over the past 40 years, displaying a broad spectrum of work that includes annual reports, magazines, exhibitions, signage and environmental graphics, catalogs, publications and identity programs. The exhibition design juxtaposes large-scale images with actual printed pieces.

The 2,500 square foot exhibition opened on February 26 with a reception attended by several hundred students, clients and designers. At the opening, Dr. Frank L. Ellsworth, Interim President of Art Center College of Design, noted, “In addition to his career accomplishments, Kit’s long-time commitment to the design community and to the College is an inspiration to both professional and emerging designers. Our students will benefit not only from the exposure to his remarkable body of work, but to his impact as an active alumnus, role model and mentor.” Hinrichs is an alumni of the College.
